Description

Baby Books, Toddler Tales: Math Experiences for our Youngest Learners is a highly-interactive professional development workshop that teaches how the use of props, movement, music, and drama can bring toddler stories to life, reinforcing pre-math concepts such as positional words, measurement, shapes, sorting, and classifying, as well as early literacy and fostering in young children a love of books that will last a lifetime!  In Baby Books, Toddler Tales: Math Experiences for our Youngest Learners, participants will be introduced to a variety of books for infants and toddlers and learn how they can be enhanced with music, movement, gestures, chants, props, using all the senses.  They will practice early math concepts using new and familiar books in creative ways.  Includes handout.

Goal: To use drama strategies to create hands-on, multi-sensory “story experiences” for children in the teaching of math and pre-math concepts.
