This vibrant, interactive family workshop invites children and adults to connect with one another and their wider community through music and movement. Families will explore call-and-response songs, rhythmic patterns, and playful movement activities while clapping, stomping, singing, and dancing together. Through partner interactions and simple conversation prompts, participants will get to know their neighbors and practice joyful ways of connecting with others. Circle dances from the United States, Israel, Latin America, and Ghana introduce rhythms and traditions from around the world while creating a shared sense of celebration and community. The workshop concludes with an exuberant free dance and joyful mashup of “La Bamba” and “Twist and Shout.”
