Free, FULL-DAY summer program for PreK–4th grade students!


Arts for Learning Maryland's Summer Arts for Learning Academy (SALA) in Washington DC, gives students in grades PreK–4 a fun summer packed with creative exploration and arts-integrated learning from the best teachers and teaching artists in the region.

The full-day, five-week program is a fun-filled, active, and engaging summer learning experience that introduces students to new art forms, new ways of learning, and the joy of creative discovery. Students will develop socially and emotionally, expand their creative process, and explore arts experiences that support their growth.

ARTS EXPLORATIONS FOR PREK–1ST

PreK–1st grade students will participate in performing, visual, media, and literary arts, as well as STEM lessons, over the course of the program. Squads unite every week to share out, show off their work, and connect with artists.

ARTS MAJORS FOR 2ND–4TH

Arts Majors offer an opportunity for our older students to delve deeper into two art forms of their choice throughout the five weeks of the program.
