Students and Families will learn about Appalachian music and dance and get a chance to learn a community dance. We will talk about a story relevant to their community and how Appalachian people created dance steps which told stories about their lives. Students and families will learn how to create their own dance steps and together we will create a community dance based on their stories. Students and Families will take home ways to use dance to tell a story, create community, and engage in learning together.
