About This Program
Claymation, Stop-motion Animation
Artist
Rae Hample
Program Type
Residency
From Wallace and Gromit to Coraline and Fantastic Mr. Fox, clay figures can be moved, adjusted and creatively configured to become the subject of a stop-motion animation. In this creative and collaborative animation “studio,” students develop storyboards, characters, and design a backdrop to make a short animation using clay puppets to depict a story. Students will walk away with an exciting animation that they can be proud of, complete with sound effects and voiceover. Through this claymation residency, students learn how to bring characters to life as a creative team.
