Description

Mary Fields will shine a light on the dynamic techniques of rhythmic rhyming and syllable counting, offering a multifaceted approach to enhancing learners’ phonological awareness and language development. Through interactive examples and practical demonstrations, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how these strategies can be seamlessly woven into instruction, fostering a rhythmic foundation for improved literacy skills.

Arts for Learning is an approved Core of Knowledge (COK) trainer through the Maryland State Department of Education. This workshop meets the requirements for licensing and the Maryland Child Care Credential Program COMAR 13A.14.09.

10’ x 10’ clear area
Access to performance area 1 hour before set up
The artist will provide a sound system for audiences of over 50 people or for large rooms/gyms
The artist will need a power outlet to plug in the sound system
The room needs to have blinds or the ability to block the light at least partially
The artist will be in communication about additional technical requirements specific to the program
