Reading In the Dark! Shadow Puppets and Jabari Jumps

Students meet an adventurous young boy named Jabari, who is totally not afraid to jump off the high dive at the pool. Well, maybe he’s a little afraid. Students use homemade shadow puppets to explore positional words, letter recognition, subtraction, the science of shadows, and how to persevere in the face of fear. Students are led through acting exercises and help tell the story of Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall.
