An interactive cultural concept that challenges the traditional notion of a classroom by asking, “What is a classroom?” Participants explore and redefine their understanding of the classroom as a community—not just a physical space, but as people, actions, understanding, and experiences that shape and enhance their educational practices as Cultural Leaders. This can be provided on site at Tola’s Room or on location. There is a community tour element as part of this PD. Food and community resource materials will be provided.

Program Length 5 hours if on site at Tola's Room. 3 hours if at a school location.

Technical Requirements

There is a community tour element as part of this PD, so participants should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. If there are accessibility needs, participants could follow us in their vehicle, as we stop along the way during the walking tour.
As part of an immersive experience, Tola's Room includes food and drink. We will need to know any dietary restrictions beforehand.
It is preferred that this PD is offered at Tola's Room for participants to get a fully immersive experience. Our max capacity for this residency if held at Tola's Room is 20 people.
If needed, Tola's Room can also host this PD on site at a school location. For this, Tola's Room would need access to a projector or SMART board and a larger room that would be able to accommodate "centers style" learning.
