Artist Statement

I am excited daily by the intersection of theater arts and education. When a child creates music or tells a story they discover their own agency. The relationships and feelings inherent in theatrical expression increase a child’s memory, sense of self, and confidence. It is my joy to facilitate their exploration from an early age and teach them the freedom that music and acting can offer.

Testimonials

"Ingrid is the teacher our daughter is going to remember the rest of her life. She is encouraging, joyful, and professional; brings a wealth of knowledge and real world experience in the performing arts; and is highly skilled in the art of teaching. It’s remarkable to witness how beautifully our daughter is growing her skills, understanding and confidence as an actor and singer—and how well she is maturing as a young woman—with Ingrid’s magical guidance." —the Biderman-Gomez family

"When I offer Ingrid a class to teach, I always know that she will bring thoughtful, engaging, and fun lessons to her students. Ingrid's background working with a variety of ages and arts disciplines makes her a great asset to our team of teaching artists. Whether she is bringing a story to life with sensory props and imagination or directing a musical, Ingrid's students always leave her classroom smiling and excited for the next magical adventure."
—Bekah Elles, Imagination Stage

"My 10 year-old has been taking private lessons from Ingrid for 6 months now and EAGERLY looks forward to working with her each week. Already, Ingrid has noticeably improved her vocal technique, and they've built up a really nice repertoire of songs that will serve her well in auditions. As a parent, I can say Ingrid has an incredible way with kids – she manages to make everything fun, and gives feedback that's unfailingly encouraging, never discouraging. My daughter adores her." —Liz Marlantes
