What's Happening at Summer Arts for Learning at Goodnow

SQUADS

Each morning begins with SQUADS–a gathering of classmates grouped by grade level–to focus on the development of social and emotional skills while building a creative and caring community.

ARTS INTEGRATION + ENRICHMENT

Students participate in eight hours of arts-integrated learning, enrichment, and recreational sports each and every day of Summer Arts for Learning at Goodnow. Throughout the program, students will be introduced to a wide variety of art forms—from visual arts and spoken word, to percussion, DJ’ing, and dance–as they learn first-hand from professional artists.

ARTS EXPLORATIONS FOR K–2ND!

K–2nd grade students will express themselves in performing, visual, media, and literary arts, as well as complete STEM lessons over the course of the program. Squads unite every week to show off their work and connect with artists!

CREATIVE CHALLENGES FOR 3RD–8TH!

3rd–8th grade students will collaborate with classmates on arts- or STEM-based creative challenges. New weekly components will be built into the challenges, culminating in an A4L Goodnow Community Celebration!

COMMUNITY EVENTS

We will also host three events this summer, giving families, caregivers, and community members a chance to be involved in the fun. Some events will invite families and caregivers to complete an art project with their student(s), while others will offer customized family and community experiences.
