April 2024

Month of the Young Child Programming

    Early Childhood Assemblies

Interactive and educational assembly performances for young learners.

Inspire and motivate your students with a live, interactive, and educational arts assembly performance with an A4L teaching artist or ensemble. Artists will create magical, interactive performances that use the arts to explore a range of early childhood content areas.

    Early Childhood Interactive Workshops

Engaging arts workshops for children, caregivers, and educators.

Children and adults will find inspiration in Early Childhood Interactive Workshops where music, dance, and theatre artists engage participants in hands-on creativity to support the learning of any topic.

On-Demand Interactive Workshop with Alden Phelps

Want to access a virtual artist program anytime during Month of the Young Child in April?

Early childhood teaching artist Alden Phelps will offer unlimited streaming access to his interactive workshop, "Singin’ Sunshine," during April. From April 1-30, 2024, you will receive on-demand access, along with an educator/family guide containing activity summaries, song lyrics, and post-workshop extension activities.

Financial Assistance for Schools and Centers

Thanks to our generous funders, we are able to provide financial assistance to a limited number of schools and centers, covering up to 100% of the cost of programming scheduled in April. Applications for financial assistance will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply early.

“This session served as a wonderful reminder that music, story and song are a really important piece of an early childhood classroom. I really loved assigning shapes to actions–such a simple practice but provides so many learning and assessing opportunities, all during the children's play. Thank you so much!”
