Ceramic Relief Sculpture

Program Type
Residency

Students will design and create a relief sculpture mural with handmade ceramic tiles. The mural may have an art integrated theme incorporating science, history, or other curriculum objectives. Students will learn how this kind of sculpture has been used throughout history by many cultures. Students will learn how to create high and low relief and texture in clay. The completed work may be a ceramic mural installation or individual student works.

Typically, residencies range from $2,500 and up, but we can use your available budget and ‘work backwards’ to create a cost-effective residency for your school. We may be able to assist you in securing grant and funding opportunities.

Residencies are tailored to your needs but usually include:

  • A kick-off assembly (performing arts only)
  • A required orientation meeting and planning session
  • A set of workshops for classes of up to 25 students each
  • A student culminating or sharing event
  • An evaluation meeting
  • Testimonials

"Suzanne was amazing. She was a highlight of the school year for myself and the students. The work we created with Suzanne will decorate the school's hallways for so many years to come. I'd love the chance to work with her again!"
