Info for Worksites
Deadline: FEBRUARY 25
The Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) partners with arts and cultural organizations across Baltimore City to provide meaningful, real-world learning experiences for students. Each summer, we work with 20+ organizations to mentor and support rising high school seniors through structured, project-based internships.
What we ask of worksites
-
Meaningful work that supports both the intern and the organization, with a balance of creative and administrative tasks
-
Guidance from a dedicated staff supervisor
How we support
-
Student preparation and orientation
-
Professional development, field trips, and culminating events
-
Student payroll and program logistics
-
Site visits, check-ins, and ongoing support
Arts for Learning manages student payroll and program logistics, so worksites can focus on mentorship and meaningful work. Our goal is to ensure that both interns and worksites feel supported and set up for success. Worksite organizations will be paid a stipend of $1500 per intern to help offset the cost of staff time in supervising and guiding the intern(s).
Who can apply
Arts and cultural organizations connected to Baltimore’s arts ecosystem are encouraged to apply. Organizations do not need to be nonprofits, but must demonstrate a commitment to inclusive, affirming environments for young people. We aim to build a cohort of worksites that reflects the diversity of disciplines, communities, and neighborhoods across the city.
“The BAI program was one of the most comprehensive programs for interns that we've seen. Having our interns come in with knowledge of how to use Canva, how to write an email, and overall professional development made it an extremely smooth transition for them on the team.”
—2025 Worksite Supervisor
