Description

Join teaching artist Laura Schandelmeier as she guides you through the exciting intersection of dance and mathematics. In this workshop, you will understand how to effectively utilize the elements of dance to teach mathematical concepts. Participants will dive into the world of dance and math, where you will explore fundamental elements of dance and their seamless integration with mathematical ideas such as composing and decomposing numbers, counting, and measurable attributes.

  • 10’ x 10’ clear area
  • Access to performance area 1 hour before set up
  • The artist will provide a sound system for audiences of over 50 people or for large rooms/gyms
  • The artist will need a power outlet to plug in the sound system
  • The room needs to have blinds or the ability to block the light at least partially
  • The artist will be in communication about additional technical requirements specific to the program
