Moving with Math (Session 2): Total Physical Response

This workshop explores the concept of Total Physical Response (TPR) and its practical use in teaching new vocabulary to Pre-K/K students. By intentionally blending movement with language, Laura Schandelmeier will reveal how TPR supports improved effectiveness in learning, memory retention, and recall. Throughout this session, educators will also encounter child-directed methods that adeptly convey problem-solving abilities, counting strategies, pattern recognition, and various other skills.

Arts for Learning is an approved Core of Knowledge (COK) trainer through the Maryland State Department of Education. This workshop meets the requirements for licensing and the Maryland Child Care Credential Program COMAR 13A.14.09.
