The single most important way you can volunteer to help Arts for Learning is by introducing people to the organization and to our mission by hosting a Meet Arts for Learning event.
Become a Roster Artist
We are always looking to partner with dynamic artists who are passionate and experienced in sharing their art forms with students.

The After School Arts for Learning Academy
The After School Arts for Learning Academy (ASALA) program offers students an opportunity to imagine, create, and express who they are through the arts!
ASALA is a FREE Baltimore City Public Schools program designed and operated by Arts for Learning Maryland. This arts-integrated after school program is modeled after our award-winning Summer Arts for Learning Academy.
At ASALA, students will participate in three hours of extended academic learning and enrichment per day for four days each week. There, students will be introduced to a wide variety of art forms—from illustration and spoken word to percussion, drama, and dance—and learn from professional artists.
ASALA is an evidence-based, full-service after school program providing students with:
A Creative & Supportive Learning Environment
Homework Time
Arts-Integrated Math & Literacy
Arts Explorations, Athletics, & Robotics
All ASALA classes begin with “SQUADS,” focusing on developing social-emotional skills and building a creative and caring community. Students will advance their math and literacy skills through arts-integrated instruction and dive deep into new arts experiences and robotics! When possible, students will move outside with their class for recess.
