Description

Discover the art of dancing through number bonds! Engage in a rhythmic chant and dance designed to facilitate counting on. Wolf Trap Master Teaching Artist Laura Schandelmeier will demonstrate how to create patterns, craft word problems, and unleash creativity. Delve into the world of child-directed pattern dances, seamlessly linked to literature, and unlock the skill of identifying patterns within books.

Arts for Learning is an approved Core of Knowledge (COK) trainer through the Maryland State Department of Education. This workshop meets the requirements for licensing and the Maryland Child Care Credential Program COMAR 13A.14.09.

Technical Requirements

10’ x 10’ clear area
Access to performance area 1 hour before set up
The artist will provide a sound system for audiences of over 50 people or for large rooms/gyms
The artist will need a power outlet to plug in the sound system
The room needs to have blinds or the ability to block the light at least partially
The artist will be in communication about additional technical requirements specific to the program
