Artist Statement
I believe in teaching students how to accept themselves, and feel that they are enough, and that they are capable and lovable and have a voice. I view dance and theater as the way to explore oneself, other people, and the whole world. I believe in a healing, uniting and inspiring role of the theater and dance, where all ideas count and everybody has space to grow. To me, the ideal teacher is the one who Engages, Educates, Unites, and Connects people and ideas, and who is Intentional, and Inspiring.
In addition to being on our K-12 teaching artist roster, Mary Fields is also a Maryland Wolf Trap Early Childhood teaching artist. Learn more about our Early Childhood programs.
